Experience the mesmerising Shevaroy Hills

Bison Ultra is a dream trail ultramarathon conceptualized by Coach Kay, founder of KaysFIT Academy & OOTYULTRA. The first edition was successfully conducted on 9-Feb-2020 in the Shevaroy Hills (Yercaud), showcasing mesmerising and unexplored estate terrain.

Yercaud, like Ooty, is home to large Indian Bison (also the tallest of the wild cattle family), otherwise called Wild Gaur; some of them are as tall as 220 cm.

After OOTYULTRA, with a singular focus to bring in the best experience to the ultra trail-loving runners, this is the first time Coach Kay has ventured into organizing an exclusive trail marathon like this.

Tough · Beautiful · For Everyone

Bison Ultra is known for its rewarding and fulfilling experience, shaped by the event atmosphere, the energy on the course, the commitment of our volunteers, and our bespoke laser-cut finisher medal.

How the course feels

Rolling climbs and sharp descents through coffee estates and wooded forests with sweeping Shevaroy views. Unlike OOTYULTRA’s tea gardens, Bison Ultra is much quieter — alive with birds and small wildlife, rewarding every step.

Support & safety

Aid stations every 3–5 km, attentive medical and recovery support, and a finish area that looks after every runner from first to last.

People of the Hills

You’ll find shy villagers and estate staff cheering you on — friendly support that inspires and uplifts the whole Shevaroy community on race day.

Welcome to your Shevaroy weekend

Make the most of your race, your stay, and the Shevaroy Hills during Bison Ultra. The expo, bib pick-up, and finish area form a compact hub in Yercaud, keeping the weekend smooth for runners and families.

Start, finish, expo & registration

The #ultramalaivasi expo will be held at the Heavens Ledge located within the Gowri Estates.

The pre-race briefing on Saturday afternoon is the best place to understand the course and meet fellow runners.

Race starts are held at designated estate trailheads; all categories finish at the Bison Ultra finish area. The venue is located approximately 18 km from Yercaud town.
